Jason Hofman

Fire Chief

Jason has served as Fire Chief for the past four years and has been a member of Amsterdam Fire for over 15 years. Prior to becoming the Fire Chief, Chief Hofman served as the Equipment Officer for the department, giving him an in-depth knowledge of all apparatus the fire district currently maintains. In addition to his steadfast loyalty to the community, Chief Hofman’s ability to continually lead the department in a humble and decisive manner, and handle the behind-the-scenes work are critical to the department and the work we do.

Dave Johnson

Assistant chief

Dave has served as Assistant Chief since 2017 and has been a member of Amsterdam Fire for over 10 years. His can-do attitude and knowledge as a Nationally Registered EMT and Firefighter make him a valuable asset to the department.

Kellan Stevenson

Training officer

Kellan joined Amsterdam Fire in 2017 and has been with Amsterdam Fire for the past 5 years. After an extended leave of absence in 2018 for military duty, Firefighter Stevenson returned home and was promoted to the rank of Captain, where he now serves as our training officer. In addition to serving with Amsterdam Fire, Captain Stevenson is also enlisted as a Military Police Officer in the United States Marine Corps, Kellan’s commitment to serving his community and his country are second to none.

Robert Flikkema

Medical Officer

Upon joining Amsterdam Fire in 2005, Firefighter Flikkema quickly exceled though his recruit training and found a calling for serving others and his community. Through determination and perseverance Firefighter Flikkema was able to obtain his Advanced EMT certification as well as multiple other certifications valued by the fire service. In 2015 Firefighter Flikkema was recognized for his steadfast initiative and was selected to become the Fire Chief of Amsterdam Fire. Serving as Fire Chief until 2017, Captain Flikkema led the department with exceptional competence and character and expanded the medical capabilities of the department. Captain Flikkema now serves as our medical officer ensuring that Amsterdam Fire abides by all medical direction and has the required medical equipment to service our community.
